I appreciate art. The ability to be creative is a beautiful skill. The reason movies are so popular is because of a creative story and creative story telling. However, when art infringes on morality, that’s when I have a problem.
This weekend Fifty Shades of Grey will be coming out in theaters across the country because Hollywood decided they want to make a lot of money off people by showing a rich guy have his way with a girl due to a signed contractual agreement. (Yes I know there is more story to it, but that’s the gist)
I am a married man who knows that sex is absolutely not only expression of love. It’s a sacred component that can lead to deeper love in the right context. If you wish to know my thoughts about this movie which I do not intend to see, read Why Christian Grey is Not My Hero on Project Inspired.
So instead of giving your money to support 50 Shades, why don’t you check out this movie that actually celebrates love not lust. Do yourself a favor and fill yourself with the following:
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
– Philippians 4:8
So how about checking out Old Fashioned instead and let me know which one will lead to better relationships and a better world. Share your comments below. Thanks for reading!
